Software
This is just a collection of files and information that I find useful, and like to have at my fingertips. Not included are files that readily available from the Debian repositories.
Debian GNU/Linux
My preferred GNU/Linux distribution is Debian. I recently tried Kubuntu, and found it very good. I liked the fact that applications in the repository were more recent than those in Debian stable. The main issue that brought me back to Debian were the problems I had to clean up after a major Kubuntu upgrade. An OS upgrade would typically corrupt the system to the point where the graphical desktop would refuse to start. In several cases, a complete re-installation of the OS was needed.
All Debian ISO images available here are netinstall images. A working link to the Internet and Debian's repositories is required.
- Debian 8 (Jessie), AMD64, NetInstall
- Debian 8 (Jessie), i386, NetInstall
- Debian 8 (Jessie), armhf, NetInstall
Epson's GNU/Linux Printer Drivers
Epson drivers are proprietary! The drivers are available at Epson's website. Collecting all the files to run a Workforce WF-7620 was challenging at first. The latest list of files from Epson now have complete collection of files. Unfortunately the Epson web page for GNU/Linux drivers isn't very reliable. Licensing term prohibits me from making the driver files publicly downloadable.

Vesta Software Configuration Management System
After using many software repository and configuration management systems. my preference is the Vesta Software Configuration Management System. Visit my web page for Vesta at risicato.org for more information about Vesta. The links below to the Vesta files are provided as a convenience for times when the official Vesta website is unresponsive.

ArgoUML
The best modeling package I've used is Borland Together: Visual Modeling Software My use of this package pre-dates Borlands acquisition of the software. The software is rather pricey, so I've been investigating free software alternatives. At the moment ArgoUML and Umbrello are being tested. Umbrello is included in most GNU/Linux repositories, but doesn't have a windows version except as part of the KDE on Windows project.. ArgoUML must be downloaded and installled manually. ArgoUML is written in Java, and has a single download for all platforms.
